Riley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) with a Master's degree in Coastal and Ocean Policy and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Marine Science. Her education and career are focused on surface waters and their impact on communities. Riley's specialized focus lies in the realm of water quality and the imperative aspect of ensuring that communities have equitable access to clean and affordable water resources. Judson Hurd, an accomplished composer residing in Wilmington, NC, draws significant inspiration from celebrated artists such as Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Chad Lawson, and Band of Horses, particularly in the realms of Neo-Classical and ambient music.
Initiating his musical journey with piano at the tender age of four, he further honed his craft at the esteemed Franz Schubert Conservatory in Paraguay. He is an alumnus from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he studied Music. Jessica Cannon, MD.Dr. Jessica Cannon is a mother of three boy, a retired physician and community advocate.
Dr. Cannon completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Virginia, and her medical training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia. Her career path also includes a significant stint on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide before she pursued her medical education. Dr. Cannon co-founded Suit Up Wilmington, a substantial organization with over 3,500+ members, established in 2016. In addition, Dr. Cannon is a co-founder of Clean Cape Fear, a grassroots initiative founded in 2017. Focusing on addressing PFAS contamination and safeguarding the local environment, including air, soil, water, and food supplies. Her belief, inspired by Paul Wellstone's philosophy, underscores her commitment to collective well-being: "We all do better when we all do better." |
