Lindsey Hallock, Chairman

Lindsey Hallock is the Southeast Senior Regional Director at Vote Solar, a non-profit solar advocacy organization. She has a Masters degree in Agrarian and Environmental Studies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Netherlands and is AICP-certified by the American Planning Association. In her current role, she manages Vote Solar's regulatory and legislative campaigns across the Southeast. These campaigns are dedicated to pursuing policies that will lead to a 100% clean energy grid, with equitable and affordable access for all.

riley lewis, vice-chair/treasurer

Riley Lewis is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington's (UNCW) Masters of Coastal and Ocean Policy degree. She's currently an AmeriCorps member working for UNCW and helps citizens in Wilmington become involved in environmental research. She's particularly interested in water quality and a community's access to clean and affordable water. She's excited to be on the WATERway NC board and looks forward to the opportunity to help her community. ​

emily peoples, Member

Emily Peoples is a retired local government employee who spends her time volunteering in the community.  She is a Certified Professional Life Coach, specializing in empowering women and grief transitioning coaching. Since retirement, she has received her B.A. and Masters degrees in Theology.

Michael Rich, Member

Michael Rich is a United States Marine Corps veteran who moved to Wilmington, NC after transitioning out of the service in 2010. Since then he has been involved in the Information Technology field specializing in Server and Network Administration with a B.S. in Network Operations and Security. Michael decided to turn his passion for IT into a vocational nonprofit service organization by the name of Mykal where he volunteers as Founder and President. Michael joined WATERway NC to further assist the community he has come to know and love by helping to provide essential services to those in need.

Travis Loop, Secretary

Travis Loop is the founder and producer of Waterloop, a nonprofit podcast featuring conversations about water solutions. He is also communications director for the Water Environment Federation. Travis formerly directed water communications for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.; managed public affairs for the Chesapeake Bay Program in Annapolis, Maryland; and served as speechwriter and communications manager for the Governor of Hawaii. He began his career as a newspaper reporter and editor, including at the Topsail Voice and in Carolina Beach. Travis graduated from UNCW, lives in Wilmington with his wife and two sons, and enjoys surfing, paddleboarding, swimming, and biking.

Erin Tremblay, Clerk

Erin Tremblay works as the Public and Environmental Policy Specialist at Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA). She received a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science from UNCW and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Science Writing. After graduating, Erin worked for GPM Investments, LLC overseeing the company’s environmental remediation projects. ​In her current role at CFPUA, Erin researches and implements projects dealing with long-term environmental issues and related social concerns. Erin also works as a case manager for the Healthy Opportunities Program, a pilot program aimed at providing non-medical interventions and potentially transforming the way Medicaid services are currently delivered to clients.
